About Me!
Jasmyn Unique Tilford is an actor, singer, dancer, poet and writer based in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University. Jasmyn is trained in acting, various dance mediums and voice.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, she found a love of the performing arts at a very young age. She found a home in the church choir at the age of 3 and, at 4 years old, she was introduced to the world of dance with her first ballet class. Her passion for self-expression and creativity has been a continuous thread throughout her life. It is this passion that has fueled her to pursue being a vessel for the stories of others and her own.
Following her graduation from Howard University, Her thirst for the arts led her to Portland, Oregon. Where she was a part of a year long Theatre Apprenticeship at Portland Playhouse. It was during this time that she returned to her love of writing and wrote her one-woman show titled “Queertessence”. Which follows Jasmyn through her adolescent navigation of queerness within a Southern Baptist Family.
When Jasmyn isn’t wearing one of many creative hats she is educating the next generation of performers. It was early on that she realized that being a part of accessible arts education to youth was of great importance to her. She has spent the last 4 years running and/or teaching in various arts educational programs.
